Proposal for a large painting at the Massachusetts State House

RELEVANT PROJECTS

The US Coast Guard

These paintings were commissioned in 2012 by William Thiesen, the Atlantic Area Historian, Atlantic Area Commander's Office.

(Mr. Thiesen is a reference on my references page.)

The Gaylord National Resort

In 2016 I was commissioned by this large hotel near Washington DC to create two large paintings for their lobby. The paintings are each 5 ft x10 ft.

Here are some photos of the process, and some photos of the painting in place.

the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation

In 2023 I was commissioned to create a large painting of the Kalmar Nyckel, a modern reproduction of a Swedish sailing ship.

I was commissioned to do this painting by Sam Heed. Mr Heed is the senior historian of the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation and president of the Council of Maritime Museums. (Mr. Heed is a reference on my references page.)

See the short video I made about this project. I plan to make a similar video about the Massachusetts State House project.

The oil painting is 24 in x 60 in. It was enlarged and mounted on a custom made light-box that is 24 feet x 10 feet.

Lockheed Martin

From 2019 to the present I have done a yearly painting for Lockheed Martin. These paintings depict new Japanese destroyers, and are now hanging in the captains’ cabins of the ships themselves.

ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil commissioned me to paint a series of paintings of new oil tankers as each tanker was launched at a shipyard in Japan.

The US Naval Institute

This painting was commissioned by a private individual and donated to the U.S. Naval Institute at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD

The painting being dedicated in 2023 at the U.S. Naval Institute..

other paintings of topsail schooners
